WHY I WANTED TO BUILD THIS.
I have been putting on BoujeeBass TV events for the last four years. As the events have grown, one thing has become harder and harder to ignore: there are fewer genuine opportunities for DJs to step into a proper room and show people what they can actually do.
I perform as Winston, but I am also a videographer. Filming BBTV shows and raves has given me years to develop the cameras, the setup and the experience needed to capture live music properly. Recording in Session is about taking all of that and using it to create the sort of opportunity I want to see more of.
This is not about asking DJs to compete for the privilege of a support slot. We have built a platform where good DJs can play, be heard and leave with something useful from the set. Bristol has given me and BBTV a lot. This is one way we can put something back into it.
